Custom woodworking and design
Today I got to wiring the light and touching up a lot of the ornamental pieces. I'm getting really close to priming everything(hopefully tomorrow). I went to the store today and got the paint I needed as well.

For the light, I thought the battery pack for the light was a little bulky, so I cut it down as much as I could(see below). After that, I got the light mounted and working! For mounting, I drilled two holes where the batteries are housed and secured it with screws up into the face of the box. It came out really good.

I also got to painting the dome light today. For now, just the blue layer. It came a little glossy, and since rustic/crude is more of what I'm going for, I fine sanded it to give it an eggshell consistency.  I got the blue I thought was closest, and it's drying as I type this. After that dries, I'll mask it with a filler of some kind to mold the Hearthstone design and apply detail as well.

I also decided to re-cut one of the ornamental pieces because it wasn't consistent enough with the original design. It's the bigger bottom right piece. It just wasn't "hugging" the center star/circle enough, now it looks a little more symmetrical.

In addition to all of this, I got an email from the Lead Designer of Hearthstone, Ben Thompson. He sent me some great pictures and concept work of the front, sides, and bottom of the box. I'm going to try and incorporate as much of the detail as I can, but some of it may not be possible with my current design, however after seeing the concept art I'm 90 percent sure I'll be doing a round 2 game box.

Thanks for following.

Really sweet! That's such a cool idea! I'll be watching to see what it looks like in finished form.
